Polar spheres

Transform the environment into a new magical and enchanting territory.

The project offers a modern, interactive exhibition. Visitors can stroll around and trigger animations inside the 25 large vinyl spheres right in front of Place des Arts using hand movements. Soundscapes as well as visual and lighting effects then activate to give visitors a typically Montreal winter experience. You can see young people playing hockey, others throwing snowballs, or hear the sounds of car horns. It is as if there were life inside the spheres.

The initial idea was to reproduce the famous little snow globes that you shake to create a snowstorm.

The installation explores three themes: winter games, winter lights, and winter in the city, with three different atmospheres. The ambient music is inspired by the works of Wendy Carlos.
