PoP! Culture bursts out

PoP! is an interactive installation made from more than 200 recycled pallets, housing 6 theaters that tell the story of the popcorn crop cycle: from the soil to the final product.

Of all the mysteries that permeate our lives, popcorn is undoubtedly one of those that intrigues us the least.

The PoP project aims to showcase Quebec's agri-food sector.

Designed for the 2023 and 2024 Saint-Hyacinthe Agricultural Fair, our intention was to illustrate, in a fun and interactive way, all the natural and industrial processes that take corn from the ground to our bowl.

We therefore proposed a scenography made of shipping pallets, directly echoing the agricultural world, dressed with vegetation, inviting visitors to wander from one side to the other of a curved wall about 8’ high. Inside these pallets, embedded within, are 6 “theaters”. These displays, all crafted differently (micro-mapping, mini-sets, LED screen…), reveal the 6 stages from the earth to our bag of popcorn.
