Sound, light and video mapping to mark the centenary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge (1917-2017)
Client : Veterans Affairs Canada
Production dates : November 2016 – April 2017
A few seconds that make all the difference to our day, our life, our country. These three seconds are at the heart of an immersive multimedia experience designed for the Place des Héros in Arras, France.
The video mapping is effective on all three sides of the square and on the entire Belfry. Thanks to a team of 10 animators, original orchestral music, two choirs, 24 video projectors and a total of 60 million pixels (almost as many as French people!), we were able to offer our spectators a moment of light.
The production was graciously donated to the town by the Canadian Department of “Veterans Affairs”.
Synopsis
A small box of memories – that’s all it took for Jeanne to convince Patrick and Richard to cross the Atlantic and join her in Arras. They find themselves in the region where their great-grandfathers met 100 years earlier at the Battle of Vimy Ridge. Together, our three friends want to plunge into the past and pay tribute to their ancestors, but little do they know that what they’re about to discover will mark them forever.
