PoP! Culture bursts out

PoP!, is an interactive installation made from over 200 recycled pallets, housing 6 theaters that tell the story of the popcorn culture cycle: from the earth to transformation.

Client: Exposition Agricole de Saint-Hyacinthe
Production dates: March 2023 – July 2023

Of all the enigmas that permeate our lives, popcorn is undoubtedly one of the least puzzling.

The aim of the PoP project is to showcase Quebec’s agri-food world.

Designed for the Saint-Hyacinthe 2023 and 2024 agricultural show, our intention was to illustrate, in a playful and interactive way, all the natural and industrial processes involved in bringing corn from the earth to our bowl.

We therefore proposed a scenography made up of transport pallets, directly echoing the agricultural environment, dressed in vegetation, inviting visitors to wander to either side of a curved wall some 8′ high. Inside these inlaid pallets are 6 “theaters”. These theatres, each shaped differently (micro-mapping, mini-decors, LED screens…) reveal the 6 stages from the earth to our bag of popcorn.
