An interactive rock n’ roll scenography with an intense narrative…
Clients : Dream Theatre
Production dates: July – October 2016
As part of progressive rock band Dream Theater’s “The Astonishing” world tour, a team of 19 animators, motion designers and 3D modelers worked flat out to produce 150 minutes of intense, narrative visual content!
We designed and produced the set design and visual content to accompany the band’s live musical performance on tour. A visual concept featuring fantastical characters was imagined to finely match the very essence of this bold rock opera.
To further integrate the spectator into the world of the show, an interactive installation was installed in the concert hall lobby. This robot selects a spectator from the crowd and takes his or her photo. This spectator instantly becomes a member of a show clan and is given a name. A photo ID card is then generated. It is then presented to the audience during intermission and becomes accessible online.
