The Tubes

Sainte-Agathe and Montreal, Canada

The Tubes are all of that at once: a festive light installation, a gigantic musical instrument, a wall of sound, and a giant projection screen.

7 gigantic tubes, thousands of watts of light, decibels of music and sound, cascades and sequences of video images for a wild crowd, make up the multimedia experience Les Tubes. First installation: Saint-Agathe The host, commander of the multimedia vessel, is assisted by 2 VJs, 1 DJ, and 1 LX. This sensation brigade galvanizes the crowd by pushing the instrument to its limits, propelling its music and projecting its images and lighting through all its pores, in every direction; sometimes euphoric, sometimes calmer, always paced by its own moods and the movements of the crowd. Second installation: Montreal On the occasion of the 16th edition of the Montréal en Lumière festival, 7 tubes were deployed around the perimeter of the performance area and the Bell stage. These structures act as a multimedia scenography and create an immense broadcast screen. During performances, cameras broadcast shots of the artists along the entire length of the largest tube, which stands 15 meters high.
