Three Seconds of Light

Three Seconds of Light

SOUND AND LIGHT / VIDEO MAPPING FOR THE HUNDRED-YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THE BATTLE OF VIMY RIDGE (1917-2017)

Just a few seconds can make all the difference in our day, our lives and our country. These three seconds are at the heart of this immersive multimedia experience that was presented in the Place des Héros in Arras, France. The production was graciously presented to the city by the Canadian minister of Veteran Affairs.

Three Seconds of Light was projected onto three sides of the square and the entire belfry.

SUMMARY

One little box of souvenirs: that’s all it took for Jeanne to convince Patrick and Richard to cross the pond with her and meet up in Arras, France. This is the area where their great grandfathers fought side-by-side 100 years earlier in the Battle of Vimy Ridge. Together, our three friends take a trip down memory lane to pay homage to their ancestors, but they could never have imagined that what they discover will stay with them forever.

THE TECHNIQUE

A team of 10 animators, original orchestra music, two choirs, 24 video projectors and a total of 60 million pixels (almost as many as there are French citizens)!!
